This study investigated metacognition in 2-dimensional visual artists. Thirty-four participants responded to a set of ten questions designed to explore problem finding and problem solving among representationally trained painters who had been involved in art making for two decades. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, studio notes, and group discussion sessions.
