Research has shown that while the history of knitting has been perceived as just a craft, it possesses the therapeutic qualities of an art form. Not only does it aid in healing illness, but it promotes overall well-being and increased socialization. This study focuses on functioning and changes in symptom distress, interpersonal functioning, and social role, measured through the Outcome Questionnaire 45.2 (OQ 45.2); psychological well-being, measured through Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale; overall well-being, measured through the Well Being Self-Assessment; and stress levels, measured through the Stress Check app by Azumio. Through mixed methodology, the results of this study proved that knitting does have a positive effect on stress and overall well-being, while providing minimal change in symptom distress, interpersonal functioning, social role, and psychological well-being.
