Working in a variety of media, I have produced a diverse body of work during my recent studies. Most of it is not easily classified as painting or sculpture but centers on creating environments for people to interact with. I will use some examples of my recent art work to explain how I have attempted to express meaning through visual and sensory means. In this thesis essay I will tackle the conflict between the physical and the conceptual and how it is reflected in my work. I'll explore how I am inspired by ideas of our political time and how my craft, the materials I choose, their ephemerality and function, and the significance of the audience have all consistently played a part in the pieces created and the stories I hope they tell.
