Performance evaluation, a process by which a manager or supervisor evaluates an employee, is widely touted by human resource scholars, professionals, and practitioners. It is also sharply criticized by others. Research to find possible solutions to the flaws and to silence critics of the process exists. The results and findings show there are problems that both the proponents and critics recognize within the appraisal process and that currently there does seem to be an overall solution to resolve these issues and make this a more favorable process in the work environment.
