Recognized methods of historical research were used throughout the study. Official document of the Republic of China at Taiwan provided the chief source of material. Publications by Taiwanese, American, and British authors on JTC education also supplied a valuable source of information and individual ideas. The collected data were analyzed, organized, and criticized for presentation in modified topical chronological order.
