520 $a This study was designed to determine the range of test-retest reliability coefficients for the Chinese Student Developmental Task and Lifestyle Inventory (CSDTLI) which was translated from Winston et al.'s (1987) Student Developmental Task and Lifestyle Inventory (SDTLI).
520 $a One hundred and twenty students enrolled in a normal university or a normal college in Taiwan were administered the CSDTLI. Twenty-six of the subjects again completed the CSDTLI 2 weeks later.
520 $a Pretest and posttest data were analyzed using Pearson's product-moment correlation for test-retest reliability, and pretest data were analyzed using Cronbach's alpha for internal consistency.
520 $a The overall test-retest correlation for the CSDTLI was.80 and correlations ranged from.50 to.84 for the tasks, subtasks and scales. Test-retest correlations for the SDTLI ranged from.78 to.89 for tasks, subtasks and scales. The internal consistency coefficient for the CSDTLI was.90 (overall) and ranged from.50 to.97 for tasks, subtasks and scales. Internal consistency coefficient for the SDTLI was.93 (overall) and ranged from.45 to.90 for tasks, subtasks and scales. Only two CSDTLI subtasks, tolerance and cultural participation, and one scale, intimacy scale, had reliability scores below.60. Implications of cultural differences are discussed.
