Thesis (M.F.A.)--The George Washington University, 2015.
My thesis exhibition is primarily characterized by research into traditions and taboos related to women and their bodies. While some of the chosen subjects are international matters related to womanhood, others originate from my direct surroundings, specifically, the Iranian culture in which I grew up.

In this thesis, the focus is to engage viewers with various taboos related to women's lives. These taboos result in public misjudgments and consequently serve to isolate women within communities. A number of these banned subjects are based on women's physiological attributes such as menstruation, abortion and pregnancy; whereas censorship and forced hijab are oppressive acts inflicted upon women by men to maintain a male-dominated hierarchical system.
