Thesis (M.A.)--State University of New York Empire State College, 2016.
This position paper examines the topic of Emotional Intelligence and how it is applied in the workplace. More specifically, the project incorporates strands of research involving the status of the workforce, identity in the workplace and the relationship between leadership and adult education. These strands of research work to promote a developed position on emotional intelligence and how it can be a building block for organizational success. Research in adult education as well as the emotional intelligence theory, has resulted in the topic of workplace identity to emerge. Due to the highly competitive workforce and increasing expectations, there is a necessity for workers who possess emotional intelligence which can combat workplace conflict and influence the creative work space. This project not only describes various research in the related fields, but it also strives to connect and formulate a better understanding of the evolving literature.
