Scope and method of study. The purposes of this study were to identify the “Theory of Flight” (AVED 1113) student learning style preferences and determine whether these learning styles vary by gender, major, and ethnicity and to determine the student satisfaction with the course and to describe how students perceive their instruction in the following categories: (a) instructional techniques; (b) instructor involvement; (c) means of teaching; (d) means of evaluation; and (e) nature of instructor; and (f) to determine the relationship between student learning style and the instructor teaching style with regard to the student satisfaction and instructional delivery. Each participant completed Kolb's Learning Style Inventory, Student Demographic Questionnaire, The Training Satisfaction Survey. In addition, students completed the Personal Interview Guide. Frequency distributions, means, percentages, overall rankings, and Chi-square were used. Chi-Square was used to test the hypotheses.Subjects--Topical Terms:

Findings and conclusions. It was found that individual learning styles for the total group of 55 students were 18 Convergers, 16 Assimilators, 13 Divergers, and 8 Accommodators. Learning Styles also varied by gender, major, and ethnicity. The data also showed that both Theory of Flight sections were found to be “satisfying.” With regard to how students perceived their instruction for the total group, it was found that Lecture-Based was the predominant instructional technique, Active Participation and Student-Directed were perceived as the highest observation in Instructor Involvement, Mostly Instruction was perceived as the highest observation for Means of Teaching. Objective Tests was perceived as the highest observation in Means of Evaluation, and Director obtained the highest observation in Nature of Instructor, The data also showed a relationship between the student learning style and the instructor teaching style. Finally, The majority of students were Convergers. The training seemed to have been more teacher-centered, and the level of satisfaction was satisfying as compared with the highest and next ranking of very satisfying.
