This study examined the perceptions of at-risk young adult participants in the Orange County Conservation Corps. The Orange County Conservation Corps is a non-profit organization that employs young at-risk adults to assist them in obtaining their high school diploma and important employment skills, and it also assists participants in the transition into post-secondary education or future employment opportunities.

520 $a This research was evaluative and descriptive. Quantitative methodologies were utilized, and descriptive statistics described the demographics and attitudes of participants.
520 $a Results of this study indicated success with the educational component of the program. Approximately 48% of the current participants earned a high school diploma or GED, and the remainder of the sample intended to earn their diploma or GED. Additionally, 85% of the current sample planned to enroll in post-secondary education with 26% already admitted. The long-term effectiveness and impact of the program were inconclusive largely because of a low response rate.
