The purpose of A Curriculum Design That Meets the Needs of 21 st Century Gifted Learners was to revise the current intermediate gifted curriculum in a West Tennessee School District. The population included a cohort of intermediate gifted students from four intermediate schools and one Montessori school in a West Tennessee school district. To answer the research questions, best practice components and instructional delivery methods were reviewed and selected, steps or procedures were described, and comparisons of pre and post data for achievement, motivation, interest, and higher-order thinking skills between treatment and control groups were conducted to determine the effect of the revised curriculum design. Findings showed statistical significance in achievement, and positively effected motivation, interest, and higher-order thinking ability.
