The purpose of this study was to determine if the collaborative strategic reading (CSR) model of instruction is an effective model of instruction for students in Kindergarten through 12th-grade educational settings with and without specific learning disabilities (SLD). This study utilized the research methodology of an integrative review and the six tasks associated with this methodology. The primary research used in this study has been analyzed though the use of quality indicators for the different types of research used in the primary sources (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research). The findings of the analysis of these indicators and coding of the research have been summarized to provide conclusions drawn from the research and reflect the many areas of the research that require further exploration. Some of the findings have indicated that CSR should be further explored with regard to several populations, and the primary sources yielded inconsistent findings with regard to research methodology and measures of reading comprehension achievement. These findings as well as other implications of the research surrounding CSR can be found in this study.
