The topic of this research study was creativity in the instructional design of workplace e-learning. Although creativity is a focus in other design fields, the role of creativity is debated within the field of instructional design because the instructional design process is considered a creative process in and of itself. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between instructional designer creative self-efficacy, creative requirement, and creative performance within the context of the instructional design of workplace e-learning. The research question addressed in this study was the following: What is the relationship between creative self-efficacy, creative requirements, and creative performance by instructional designers of workplace e-learning? A quantitative, correlational research design was used, and a multiple linear regression statistical model was applied to analyze the variables. The population and sample included instructional designers of workplace e-learning only; the sample size was 24. The findings revealed that creative self-efficacy and a creative requirement were not significant predictors of creative performance in the instructional design of workplace e-learning, as shown through a multiple linear regression model at p = .911 for p > .05. Additional research is needed to examine the role of creativity in ensuring creative outcomes and innovative practice in the field of instructional design.
