Considering a recent Gallup study, human beings spend one-third of their lives at work; 30% are engaged at their jobs with 20% actively disengaged (lacking passion.) (Clifton 2013) Passion for one's work can best be described by Mihaly Csikszentmihaly's concept of Flow; being completely focused with feelings of positivity and motivation (Seligman and Csikzentmaihalyi, 2000, p.10). The aim of this project was to create an educational and motivational environment where unhappy and unfulfilled participants could follow specific steps to increase self-awareness towards professional fulfillment. Integrating the works of several learning theorists this project examines and evaluates the delivery of a program designed to identify career interests and goals, create a positive approach towards achieving goals, and identify ways to monitor achievement of these goals. Initial results suggest participants can become engaged in the design of a career which taps into their passion applying positivity and this defined process.
