Steinke, Daniel R.
Development of an air to ground bistatic imaging radar simulation.
- 135 p.
Adviser: J. M. Henson.
Thesis (M.S.)--University of Nevada, Reno, 2006.
A Java software simulation is developed to simulate and test a bistatic imaging radar. The program simulates an opposite-sided bistatic radar, and provides output imagery at different stages of the simulation process. Simulations are controlled through specification of the location of the transmitter and receiver, as well as choice of elevation and terrain data over which the simulation will be run. Topics discussed include: radar basics, key methods and techniques necessary for the bistatic simulation, development of the program itself, and its usage. The results are discussed and compared to those of a monostatic radar simulation. A user's manual for the program is included as an appendix.
