Brain-machine and brain-computer interfaces have the potential to advance the fields of medicine, telepresence, and virtual reality. Sufficient research exists to establish the potential and limitations of non-invasive brain-machine interfaces. However, a review of the literature reveals two major gaps in the research. First, no dynamic systems have been generated comparing the brain-machine interface controlled agent to a manually controlled agent, nor have any significant comparisons been made between the usability of fuzzy logic systems and artificial neural networks in the context of LRP analysis been made. Two hypotheses were given, first, the brain-machine interface driven robot would perform at least 1.333 times slower than a manually controlled robot, second, a fuzzy logic system would classify LRP more quickly but at a lower accuracy than a neural network. The findings indicate that the brain-machine machine did have an average performance ratio of 1.841 times slower than a manually controlled robot, and that a fuzzy logic system was able to classify LRP data with a statically significant accuracy, but a neural network system was unable to achieve significant results.
