This study examined sleep/wake behaviors of students who had been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), diagnosed with a Learning Disability (SLD), and students who were classified as Diagnostic Criteria Unmet (DCU). Cognitive and academic functioning using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fourth Edition (WISC-4), the Woodcock-Johnson III Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJ-III COG), and the Woodcock-Johnson III Tests of Achievement (WJ-III ACH) were also examined in relation to the Sleep Habits Survey. Seventy-seven students who had been previously evaluated by the Florida State University Multidisciplinary Center and their parents participated in the study. Findings indicated that students diagnosed with ADHD or SLD had more sleep problems and reported being sleepier during the day than students classified as DCU. Suggestions for school psychologists and school administrators are offered.
