Thesis (M.S.)--Texas A&M University - Kingsville, 2006.
The objective of this study was to explore gender differences of male and female college students while working together. Sixty-seven college students were surveyed from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The surveyed college students were asked to answer gender preference questions and questions on gender segregation being a problem in our society and in college. Both surveys contained brief scenarios about working with a male or female student on homework, followed by ten gender related questions. The results showed two significant findings. One significant finding found that female students prefer to work with female students rather than male students. The other significant finding revealed that when male students are working with male students they do not believe gender segregation is a problem in the college setting; however, when male students are working with female students, they do believe gender segregation is a problem. The results revealed the same findings for female students.
