The research was designed to analyze the benefits of utilizing university based hotel conference centers as learning laboratories for hospitality management students. Additionally, the opinions of hospitality management faculty and university based hotel conference center employees were researched regarding the learning laboratory experiences. The study also looked at the various curricula of the programs, compared the methods and developed a model framework curriculum for learning laboratory use. The data were collected throughout the forty-eight contiguous United States from both two-year and four-year hospitality management institutions.

The results of the study provided insight to opinions of the hospitality faculty and university based hotel conference center employees and supported the thought that utilizing university based hotel conference centers as learning laboratories for hospitality management students was beneficial to the development of quality industry managers.
