The purpose of the research was to encourage improvement in the overall recruitment and retention strategies aimed at accounting majors in the North Carolina Community College System. The researcher conducted a Delphi study of the North Carolina Community College chairpersons focusing on four questions concerning accounting major recruitment and retention strategies currently employed. After synthesizing the responses via three rounds of questioning using the Delphi technique of consensus building, the researcher created a profile of the responses. This profile detailed predicted success factors for accounting majors, the identified problems accounting majors face within the system and the department chairpersons' suggestions for encouraging greater retention of accounting majors.
