This research is the development of a psychometric instrument that identifies a profile of acceptance of a recovering person's alcoholic identity. Through analysis of this instrument, an effective treatment plan can be developed, which may effect the stabilization of an alcoholic's addiction and enhance their quality of life. Preliminary psychometric data and exploratory analysis are presented.

520 $a The sample included adult recovering alcoholics. Pilot, pre and posttest were self-administered to determine reliability. This included item elimination, Chronbach Alpha and test re-test analysis. Six subscales included surrender, shame, denial, gratitude, self-efficacy and alcohol love affair which yielded seventy Likert response instrument items.
520 $a Validity was determined through face, construct and convergent analysis. Multiple face Validity teams were employed. Construct validity was determined by known group analysis. Convergent validity was measured by two instruments that focused on self-efficacy and denial. Two other instruments measured alcohol dependency and sobriety status.
