Thesis (M.A.)--Prescott College, 1999.
This thesis has been designed as a tool to create study plans and thematic units which focus on the topic of Central Asian geography. Beginning with the tectonic processes that formed the region's structure, this work examines the physical and human elements which have shaped Central Asia's history from the continental formation of Asia to the events which brought about the first incarnations of the Silk Road at the cusp of the common era. Organized into three sections: (1) a paper which explores the historical evolution of Central Asia's physical and human geography, (2) outlines that address the fundamental principles of physical and geography, and (3) a summary of the National Geography Standards and a small selection of sample study plans, the user should be able to familiarize themselves with the region's basic phenomena, find pertinent geographic information, and develop study plans based on the national standards.
