Prolonged exposure to stress is a serious condition that can increase the risk of chronic illness and disease. The problem is limited access to evidence-based complementary and alternative medicines stress-reduction therapies. There is limited accessibility to evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies. Furthermore, there is limited access to health interventions that provide evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies for free public use. This project aims to create a free online handbook that includes information on best practice complementary and alternative therapies that reduce stress and promote health.Albert Bandura's self-efficacy theory (SET) was utilized as the theoretical framework and was introduced in a health context as a foundation of motivation, well-being, and personal accomplishment and to derive conclusions about how adult individuals suffering from chronic stress and at risk for chronic disease and illness can potentially reduce stress and improve health outcomes. The handbook, Healing Matters: Relaxation Techniques to Manage Chronic Stress, was designed as a health-promoting guide for individuals suffering from the damaging symptoms of chronic stress and seeking information on ways to reduce stress.
