Thesis (Ph.D.)--Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2024.

This project examines the relationship between the Lord's Supper and the community of the local church and finds that the Lord's Supper proclaims, ratifies, and advances the corporate realities of the gospel in the local church. The Old Testament roots of the Lord's Supper had corporate significance intending to unify the people around God's deliverance. The Lord's Supper proclaims the gospel, which includes corporate realities. Participants in the Supper affirm and commit to the gospel proclaimed in the Supper. Finally, the Supper reveals a particular Christian ethic that participants are obligated to live towards the local church and the world.
