Transformative moments of liminality in Bipolar I Disorder (BD-I) neurodivergent experience and neurodivergent spirituality offer powerful insights for the BD-I spiritual journey and spirituality in general. Through autoethnography combined with interviews with Cecelia, the author's mother, the story of BD-I acceptance opens theological possibilities. The autoethnography examined a life journey complete with experiences of discipleship and wider stories of others with bipolar diagnoses. An adapted form of John Shea's storytelling movements offered a powerful theological-methodological circle. Open-ended, semi-structured interviews reflected a wider and deeper joining in the dance of the Holy Trinity. The results revealed BD-I acceptance as a way of entering neurodivergent spirituality. Transformations in these liminal paradigms revealed positive dimensions of thinking, learning, and processing information in BD-I neurodivergent experience and BD-I neurodivergent spirituality. Research findings suggest that the BD-I spiritual journey has embedded positive dimensions of theologizing and producing spiritual insight through flashes of insight and rapid speech. However, the BD-I spiritual journey is not effective at naming these qualities, which causes them to be obscure in the Christian spiritual journey. Naming BD-I neurodivergent experience and BD-I neurodivergent spirituality is promising for those who choose to identify as neurodivergent.
