The number of Deaf students attending higher education institutions is growing in academia worldwide. This evaluation aims to develop an understanding of the struggles of Deaf students navigating educational barriers in the CSU system. I investigated the experiences of Deaf students on CSU campuses, focusing on campus culture, intersectionality, and accessibility. This evaluation demonstrates the struggles of Deaf and disabled students, highlights areas for improvement, and suggests potential solutions for the CSU system to address systemic discrimination and enhance inclusivity. Collaboration with the CSU system is essential to create a more inclusive environment, by fostering dialogue and intentional self-reflection. With open communication, we can work towards a more equitable future; however, this requires a commitment from all stakeholders, Deaf students and CSU leaders alike, to recognize and dismantle institutional ableism and oppression.
