Kafkaslardan Arap Yarimadasi na, Horasan'dan Akdeniz'e kadar uzanan genis bir cografi saha uzerinde kurulan Irak Selcuklulan Dev-leti, icten ve distan gelen tehlikelerle bogusarak, 75 yil yasamayi basar-mistir. Sehzadeler arasindaki taht kavgalari, komutanlann isyanlan, Abbas halifelerinin dunyevi hakimiyet arzularini gerceklestirmek icin firsat buldukca harekete gecmeleri ve siyasi calkantilar bu devrin ka-rakteristik ozellikleridir. Sultanlar, tahtta kaldiklari sure icersinde hep bu meselelerle ugrasmislar, coktandir durmus olan fetihlere yeniden baslamak bir yana, devleti distan tehdit eden Hacli ve Gurculerle bizzat mucadele edecek zaman ve kudretten yoksun olarak, bu islerle kendi ko-mutanlarini gorevlendirmislerdir.Sultan Mesud donemi de bu ic ve dis calkantilarin yasandigi bir de-vir olmasi itibariyla onemli olup, sonunda gecici bir sure icin dahi olsa bunlarin ortadan kaldirildigi, ayni zamanda devletin en parlak devrinin yasandigi donem oldugundan dolayi ilgimizi cekti. Simdiye kadar bu ko-nuyu ele alan mustakil bir calisma yapilmamis olmasi da, bu donemi ay-dinlatmamiz icin bize guc verdi.Arastirdigimgz devri konolojik bir sirayla, konulara gore tasnif et-tik. Boylece daha derli toplu ve anlasilir olacagi kanaatindeyiz. Halife-likle iliskiler bolumunu islerken, ilk etapta bu makamin onemi, halifele-rin secimi, nitelikleri, azli gibi huhuki konularla, SelcukIiirann islam dunyasina getirdikleri yeni bir anlayis olarak dini ve siyasi otoritenin ayrilmalari olayinin anlamini, devrin islam alimlerinin olaya nasil bak-tiklanni. Bizim icin yine onemli saydigimiz, meliklerin ve komutanlarinin is-yanlarini,{acute}{80}{Ostrok}Turk hakimiyet anlayisi ile askeri ve idari acidan inceledik, Boylece olaylari daha iyi anlama imkanina sahip olabilecegimiz kanaa-tindeyiz.Yine Irak Selcuklulan ile yeni bir anlam kazanan metbilluk- tabilik iliskileriyle, Sultan Sancar - Sultan Mesud arasindaki munasebetleri tahlile calistik.Verdigimiz bu ana basliklar altinda konunun ozunu ortaya cikarmaga*W/olaya yepyeni bir anlayisla yaklasarak, bunlarin Selcuklu-lar acisindan onemlerine temas ettik. yazilisinda, Turkcedeki soylenis seklini kullandik.Bu eserle Selcuklu tarihi sahasina katkida bulunabilirsek kendimizi mutlu hissedecegiz.Boyle zor donemi incelerken, elimizde bulunan kaynaklarin verdik-leri bilgileri degerlendirerek, olaylara tarafsiz bir sekilde yaklasmaga calistik. 520 $a The Iraqi Seljuk State, founded on a wide geographical area extending from the Caucasus to the Arabian Peninsula, from Khorasan to the Mediterranean, managed to survive for 75 years, struggling with internal and external dangers. The fights for the throne among the princes, the rebellions of the commanders, the Abbas caliphs taking action whenever they found the opportunity to realize their desire for world domination, and political turmoil are the characteristic features of this period. The sultans always dealt with these issues during their time on the throne, let alone restarting the conquests that had long stopped, and lacking the time and power to personally fight against the Crusaders and Georgians who threatened the state from outside, they assigned their own commanders to these matters.The period of Sultan Mesud is also important as it was a period in which these internal and external turmoils were experienced, and they were eventually eliminated, even for a temporary period, and it attracted our attention because it was also the period in which the state's brightest period was experienced. The fact that no independent study has been conducted on this issue until now has given us the strength to shed light on this period.We classified the period we researched in a chronological order, according to topics. We believe that this way it will be more organized and understandable. While dealing with the section on relations with the Caliphate, in the first place, legal issues such as the importance of this position, the election, qualifications and dismissal of the caliphs, the meaning of the separation of religious and political authority as a new understanding that the Seljuks brought to the Islamic world, and how the Islamic scholars of the period looked at the event.We examined the rebellions of the princes and their commanders, which we consider important for us, from a military and administrative perspective with the understanding of Turkish sovereignty. We believe that we will have the opportunity to understand the events better.Again, we tried to analyze the relations between Sultan Sancar and Sultan Mesud, and the relations between sultan Sancar and Sultan Mesud, which gained a new meaning with the Iraqi Seljuks.Under these main headings, we tried to reveal the essence of the issue and approached the issue with a brand new understanding and touched upon their importance for the Seljuks. We used the Turkish pronunciation in writing it.We will feel happy if we can contribute to the field of Seljuk history with this work.While examining such a difficult period, we tried to approach the events objectively by evaluating the information provided by the sources we had.
