Organizations with depleted cybersecurity workforces continue to look to augment their unfilled positions through alternate means. The use of digital transformation in cybersecurity can provide a viable alternative to filling positions available in the organization's labor force. Therefore, the purpose of this quantitative research with a correlative design used digital transformation in cybersecurity personnel work tasks using a proposed enhanced model to improve business processes to understand better the link between the root cause of the complex cyber-attacks and the shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals and how to augment their work tasks. This quantitative research was selected to provide data based on numerical and statical analysis to support or refute the hypothesis. This research was completed with U.S. cybersecurity professionals within the Bell Textron Incorporated cybersecurity professionals globally utilizing the corporate IT assets. The use of digital transformation in cybersecurity within a proposed framework, proposed business process, and centralized SharePoint intranet workspace was used to study the gap between the organization's required personnel to operate cybersecurity activities. The results suggest that the findings answered the research questions, added to the cybersecurity domain of knowledge, and showed strong correlations between the research variables. Most statical tests showed statistically significant correlations between the independent and dependent variables. The strongest correlation with the independent and dependent correlation was a positive correlation within most statistical tests. Digital transformation in cybersecurity incentivizes the cybersecurity domain to find alternative ways to augment work tasks between cybersecurity professionals. The findings indicate that digital transformation in cybersecurity positively affects the root cause of the many complex cyber-attacks that the shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals can manage.
