It is a well-known fact that the Korean church has achieved unprecedented growth in Christian history in just 120 years. However, the Korean church is experiencing a very sudden and serious collapse. According to the 2010 statistics, church attendance of Protestants has fallen to 7.8 million, and the Korean church is losing more than 150,000 people every year since 2010. Especially, the evangelization rate of the next generation has fallen to 2.5 percent. It is indeed a severe problem in the Korean church.Why did such a severe and tragic collapse suddenly occur? The most important reason for this serious collapse is Confucianism which has always existed in the Korean church as a lump of deadly cancer. One of the most critical elements of Confucianism is human moral zeal. This human moral zeal was one of the reasons for the rapid growth of the Korean church. However, Confucianism has been the greatest hindrance to making the gospel the gospel because it focuses on human moralistic zeal rather than on the free gift of the gospel.In this major project, I studied what Confucianism is, and how it infiltrated the Korean church. I discovered that Confucianism as deeply rooted in the Korean church is the same problem as the other gospel that was in the Galatian church. To prove this, I studied the true gospel of the Bible; I also work with three pastors who are leading a healthy pastoral service in Korea by getting answers for the questionnaire as well as evaluating their sermons.As a result, I was able to confirm that Confucianism was the root of the Korean church's crisis, and that the only way for the Korean church to come back to an abundant life in Christ is to extract the deep roots of Confucianism in the Korean church and return to the true gospel.
