There has been a movement to change the landscape of the higher education classroom from the more traditional method of lecture-centered learning to more active and student-centered learning. Student-centered learning (SCL) is becoming more prevalent in higher education. Research has shown students' greater motivation, learning experiences, and overall performance when taught using methods within the studentcentered principle. Students take a more active role in their learning during this process. This study aims to determine if students have a better classroom experience, have more motivation, and improve their exam scores when given more control over their learning. Educators and students provide their perceptions of the idea before, during, and after the course. Course grades and national registry exam scores compared to cohorts who learned using the more traditional classroom techniques to find the results. The results will help provide the faculty with ways to enhance the student and teacher experience in the classroom while getting more effective and positive student results.
