Music is an important, but underutilized, tool in the second language classroom. The integration of music can positively impact students' overall mental well-being by easing anxiety, regulating emotion, and expressing themselves in connection with the content. In addition, music integration has an impact on motivation, literacy, cultural awareness, and overall classroom engagement. Second language teachers can use music as an invaluable supplementary tool to connect students with their established curriculum. The project, Music Matters, which can be found in the appendix was written to help second language teachers select music for various levels as well as provide methods to supplement their curriculum.
