This research offers an interdisciplinary project in pedagogy and linguistics to enhance instructional practices in the ESL field. Multimodal communication would situate educators in a conceptual framework that deepens their metalinguistic understanding to select intentional practices throughout the Barthian semiotic codes (Barthes, 1974). Consequently, this project aims to create a centralized website with compelling semiotic elements for fostering multimodal communication inside ESL elementary classrooms by increasing learners' motivation, recognizing ELLs' identities, and enriching digital literacy. The proposed activities seek the implementation of cohesive teaching practices that helps create a conducive environment for the development of a second language in the acquisition process. Therefore, intentional educators could provide appropriate instruction to meet individual and collective learners' needs.
