COVID-19 has impacted our lives in general and work life in particular. One example was the transition from working in a factory or an office to working from home and turning permanent teams into hybrid teams. Considering today's dynamic job market, this transition requires the examination of factors that contribute to successful work in hybrid teams, to team management, work efficiency and organizational productivity. This study aimed to expand the knowledge about three fundamental factors: team trust, innovative self-behavior (ISB) and innovative team behavior (ITB), by examining the relations between them in hybrid teams during COVID-19, also with respect to employee's age.The hypothesizes were: 1) A positive correlation would be found between ISB and ITB; 2a+2b) A positive correlation would be found between team trust, ISB and ITB; 3a+3b) There would be a significant difference between the employee's perception of team trust, ISB and ITB between younger and older employees.Method: This quantitative study included 128 participants in various ages who worked in hybrid teams. All of them completed an online survey, during COVID-19 (November 2021 to January 2022) which included a socio-demographic/work characteristics questionnaire; The "De Jong and Den Hartog's (2010) measure of innovative work behavior" to assess ISB and ITB, and the "Mishra and Mishsra's (1994) mutual trust scale" to measure team trust. Hypothesis 1, 2a+2b were analyzed by Pearson correlation test. Hypothesis 3a+3b were examined using t-test.Results: In the general sample, higher ISB significantly correlated with higher ITB and both significantly correlated with elevated team trust. Younger and older employees did not differ in team trust and ITB. Yet, older employees perceived themselves as having higher ISB. In the general sample, higher team trust was the main predictor of ISB and ITB, and age predicted ISB.Conclusions: Managers should consider ISB, ITB, team trust and the relations between them, with respect to workers' age, and apply strategies to enhance these factors in team work, especially in the hybrid format, to optimize work efficiency and organizational productivity in regular time and in time of crises as during COVID-19.
