Compassionate care in behavior analysis and the supervision of aspiring behavior analysts must be explored together as the field of behavior analysis continues to evaluate the impact of social validity of the services delivered as it influences the reputation of the field as a whole. Parents of children with autism are a large consumer of behavior analysis as they seek medically necessary applied behavior analysis (ABA) services for their children. This study evaluated the effect of behavioral skills training (BST) to train aspiring behavior analysts to deliver compassionate feedback to confederate parents of children with autism. Participants were aspiring behavior analysts who were actively participating in supervised independent fieldwork or had not yet passed the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) examination to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). A concurrent multiple baseline design (MBD) across three participants was used to demonstrate experimental control. The independent variable was the implementation of BST. The dependent variable and measurement tool used was a ten-component task analysis developed based on the current feedback and compassionate care literature. The results of this study demonstrated a minimum increase of four skills in the task analysis across all three participants. The use of BST was shown to be successful in training the task analysis components.
