The relationship between a teacher and a student is directly related to both teacher and student satisfaction and success. The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable Teacher-Student Relational Efficacy Scale (TSRES)-an instrument to provide measurable and research-based reflective opportunity to identify and potentially address beliefs and behaviors associated with a strong and positive teacher-student relationship. The 27-item TSRES was constructed from an extensive literature review. Participants were located within Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Principal component analysis was employed to determine factor loadings. Reliability was evaluated with Cronbach's alpha (ɑ = 0.856) and the test-retest method with Pearson's coefficient (r = 0.789). Inferential statistics showed the survey was not partial to age, highest level of education, years of teaching experience, or race/ethnicity.
