This study aims to answer the research question of how innovation nenvorks influence service design. Innovation networks consist of people from different knowledge backgrounds working together to achieve innovation (Burt, 2007 and 2015). Thus, innovation networks represent the fabric of collaborations between people from different knowledge backgrounds. The underlying purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of innovation networks in service design. This study's contribution to innovation network theories is to find out how innovation network can influence innovation outcomes. This study's findings include three aspects. First, the findings of mnovation network dynamics show that how people are organised during innovation activities. This finding shows the collaborations between people from different knowledge backgrounds are throughout the whole innovation process. Second, the findings of mnovation network structure present that some people are brokers connecting other people working together. This study presents five types of brokers in innovation networks, liaison, consultancy, coordination, representative, and gatekeeper brokers. These five types of brokers provide connections between people in innovation. Third, the findings of innovation network influence show that the five types of brokers in networks and the structure of innovation networks can significantly influence innovation outcomes.
