The purpose of this study was to contribute more empirical information on the transformational leadership style's influence on the relationship between leaders and followers. Transformational leadership is widely used in various work environments; however, the supervising style's use in the human service field is sparse. Employing the following investigation filled a knowledge gap in the human service industry. One research question was employed in this study. RQ1: Is there a correlation between millennial employees' perception of their leaders' overall transformational leadership, perception of workplace trust, and work engagement? A quantitative nonexperimental correlation design was used in this study to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership style and millennial human service workers. This investigation included a sample population (N = 30) of millennials working for two human service agencies located within the Southeastern region of the United States. Three instruments (i.e., Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Form 5X-Short, Workplace Trust Survey, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale) comprised 45 questions of a survey hosted on SurveyMonkey's solution website. Pearson's r correlation was utilized in the analysis of employees' perception of leaders' overall transformational leadership style (outcome variable), perception of workplace trust (predictor variable), and perception of work engagement (predictor variable). The results indicated a statistically significant relationship existed between transformational leadership and workplace trust (r = 0.84). In addition, no statistical significance was discovered between transformational leadership and work engagement (r = -0.19). Future research recommendation includes employing participants from multiple generations (e.g., Gen X, millennials, and Gen Z), exploring transformational leadership style influence in various work environments, and identifying other factors affecting the relationship between workplace trust and work engagement.
