The purpose of this grant proposal thesis is to seek funding to continue the existing LGBTQ+ affirming work with justice-involved people who may identify as Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) and gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men (MSM) in Orange County. The grant proposal will fund an innovative project called Decriminalizing Advocates, Restoring Integrity, and Navigating Gaps (DARING) - a culturally affirming and trauma-informed community-based program. The goal of the program is to assist 100 formerly incarcerated people who identify as BIPOC MSM with comprehensive case management services, behavioral health counseling, and other supportive services. The grant writer chose the California Wellness Foundation whose aim is to improve the wellbeing of people in California by increasing access to health care, quality education, good jobs, healthy environments, and safe neighborhoods. Submission of the grant was not a requirement for the completion of this project. .
