This study is intended to bring insight into the relationship between technology and mental health issues with a focus on the college population, no matter the gender, race, age, or ethnicity. Consistent with prior research and questionnaires, there have been findings showing that individuals struggle with mental health issues that correlate with social networking sites. This study focuses on college students and their extracurricular activities, anxiety, and types of social media platforms used. Findings indicate interesting relationships between hours spent on social media and first-generation college students, as well as between the use of social media sites and "feeling fat". Various hypotheses were tested through independent sample t-tests and ONEWAY ANOVA; while not all of the hypotheses were supported, they did produce interesting findings.
