This action research project assessed how the intervention of a token economy system could improve school-based performance for early childhood students with autism. All students received specially designed instruction specified on their individualized education plans (IEPs) for academic and functional skills. Data was analyzed over ten weeks relating to how a token economy system impacts latency of beginning a task once a directive is given, duration of time on task, and the number of completed tasks within a timed interval. Results will be shared.
