The most effective treatment for ADHD is a multimodal treatment approach. Research suggests that parenting practices and parental attitudes mediate response to treatment for ADHD. For the present study, a parent-child co-reading book was developed as a vehicle to introduce the topic of ADHD symptomology, evidence-based interventions, and the importance of parental support, to East Asian American families in the United States. The book was developed to be culturally sensitive to the target readers, as a tool that they can use without facing the intensity of mental health treatment stigma, which is one of many treatment barriers for this population. Because adolescents with ADHD may develop comorbidities, such as behavioral disorders and mood disorders, the book was designed for the first to fifth graders with the hope of assisting parents to support their children across different settings and different challenges before their children enter adolescence. The book was evaluated by nineteen parents and their children who have ADHD, three teachers, and nine therapists, to determine the strengths and limitations of the book. The feedback from participants was mostly positive, with good agreement across the groups. The main suggestions for changes related to the length of the book and the use of the difficult vocabulary. The reframe of ADHD as a superpower was seen as mostly a positive aspect. The link to a specific culture was seen as an asset, but the book may also benefit others from different cultures as a tool to decrease societal stigma toward mental health and ADHD. For future revisions, the author may target the audience to the first grader since it is more developmentally appropriate for parent-child reading together activities. In addition, CDC (2015) reported that the average age in children who were initially diagnosed with ADHD was seven. It is essential to increase awareness and opportunities for early interventions. Furthermore, it is recommended that the author suggests the parents read the book in chunks with their children; the author may create different books for capturing ADHD children's life from different settings (i.e., school life, home life, social life).
