Unconditional Love is a healing agent that God uses to respond to sin. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom 5:8 NIV). The country is faced with a major resurgence of racism and discrimination that calls for renewed reconciliation. The US Army has had an increase in white supremacy groups and far-right extremism within its ranks. While the army has recognized the problem, more must be done to minimize the effects of racism through reconciliation. In February of 2021, NBC News headlines reported how the "Pentagon warns of threat from white supremacists inside the military." A researcher from the Anti-Defamation League states, "white supremacy and anti-government extremism have periodically surged in American society and in the military dating to the 1980s. But, he said, the Pentagon has never enacted the kind of sweeping reforms necessary to tackle the problem."The author has begun the process of studying and undertaking extensive research to determine the history of racism within the US Army. With the help and assistance of Army Chaplains the author plans to develop a ministry project to constitute an effective contextualized biblical model to counteract the effects of racism in the US Army. Once developed, the goal is to present a proposed curriculum that can be utilized to teach chaplains at the Chaplain Officer Basic Leadership Course in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The Method for Analyzing the Problem for this ministry project will be supported by a panel of chaplain experts who will provide a critique of the Author's Proposed Pillars of Reconciliation. This Proposed Pillar of Reconciliation for the army is modeled after the South African, Truth and Reconciliation Commissions. The research objective of this dissertation project presented "A Divine Solution: Unconditional Love as the Antidote to Racial Discrimination in the US Army." The results obtained from the research provided insight into how to identify the problems of racial discrimination, and what the needs are to support and protect those who are facing the abuse. The solution is and will always be God's unconditional love.
