The purpose of this research study was to survey social work students on their perspectives towards Mexican American immigrants using a Likert scale. There were 32 participants, with only 25 fully completing the survey. The survey had 26 statements with five domains: general perspective, perceived threat, the role of social work, social service, and cultural/racial diversity in immigrants. The students exhibited pro-immigration attitudes, but were less favorable towards undocumented immigrants, especially at a micro-level. This displays a bifurcation of immigrants and a need to better educate social work students regarding immigration policy to improve current attitudes in the United States.
