The purpose of this basic qualitative study was to understand and describe how Nicaraguan Christian leaders construct their theology. While there is a growing body of literature on the topic of theology written from a Latin American point of view (Calvillo, 2020; Choi & Berho, 2016; Costas, 2005; Elizondo, 2003; J. Gonzalez, 1990; Miguez Bonino, 1995; Sobrino, 1978; to name a few), there remains a need to understand what factors impact the construction of theology from a Nicaraguan perspective. The data in this study was captured through semi-structured interviews with 22 Nicaraguan Christian leaders. The author used part of Charmaz's (2014) approach to code the data, which included initial and focused coding. The findings that emerged demonstrated that various factors impacted how Nicaraguan Christian leaders constructed their theology. The findings were described under the themes of lived experiences, learning experiences, and spiritual experiences. Based on the findings, theoretical and practical implications are offered.

520 $a El proposito de este estudio cualitativo basico fue comprender y describir como los lideres cristianos nicaraguenses construyen su teologia. Si bien existe un creciente cuerpo de literatura sobre el tema de la teologia escrita desde un punto de vista latinoamericano (Calvillo, 2020; Choi & Berho, 2016; Costas, 2005; Elizondo, 2003; J. Gonzalez, 1990; Miguez Bonino, 1995 ; Sobrino, 1978; por mencionar algunos), subsiste la necesidad de comprender que factores inciden en la construccion de la teologia desde una perspectiva nicaraguense. Los datos de este estudio fueron capturados a traves de entrevistas semiestructuradas con 22 lideres cristianos nicaraguenses. El autor utilizo parte del enfoque de Charmaz (2014) para codificar los datos, que incluia una codificacion inicial y enfocada. Los hallazgos que surgieron demostraron que varios factores impactaron la forma en que los lideres cristianos nicaraguenses construyeron su teologia. Los hallazgos se describieron bajo los temas de experiencias vividas, experiencias de aprendizaje y experiencias espirituales. Con base en los hallazgos, se ofrecen implicaciones teoricas y practicas.
