This program development dissertation investigates the process by which evangelical pastors can develop theology around LGBTQ issues. Evangelical faith is challenging to define because there are so many denominations. However, evangelicals share core theological values, which include conservative moral, social, cultural, and traditional family values. These seem to contrast with the values within the LGBTQ community, which gives rise to challenges for those who want to join in a common spiritual faith. Additionally, the Evangelical Church is struggling to define its relationship to the LGBTQ community, and many same-sex minority Christians are leaving their churches. There is a need for fundamental research on how evangelical pastors can develop a theology and determine its application in ministry to address issues within this minority community. This study seeks to understand and clarify how evangelical pastors can develop a theology around LGBTQ issues, to support them in their ministry.
