Active interactions with nature have been related to improved psychological and physiological health, including increased self-esteem and reduced stress levels. The presence of plants/trees has been found to improve life satisfaction environmentally, economically, socially, culturally, physically, and mentally. The natural scenery and a relaxing atmosphere in open spaces encourage student gatherings and discussions and provide fresh air for stressed scholars. To obtain baseline information on student perceptions and utilization of the Southern University campus green infrastructure, a survey instrument was developed and distributed. A total of 332 responses were collected. Data collected include demographics of the respondents, students' awareness and use of campus green spaces, perceptions of quantity and quality of the campus greenspaces, and suggestions for further improvement. Using SPSS (version 21) software, the statistical analyses such as regression analysis, bivariate correlations and crosstabulations were done to the data collected. The study found that the total perception score is significantly correlated with students' classification (level at university), race, major, age, and residence (on or off campus). Overwhelming majority (70.18%) is familiar with the term "green infrastructure, urban forest or green space." Their familiarity is not correlated with their classification, major, and gender. Among respondents, 36.75% use the green spaces on campus for relaxation, 31.63% for socializing, 30.72% for studying, 10.54% for sports, 34.33% for all the above. How students use green space is correlated to students' classification/level at school, race, major, age, and residence. About 84% enjoy spending time in green space that is aesthetically pleasing; 50% agree that SU campus green infrastructure is conducive for learning, relaxation, comfort, and reducing stress; and 47.59% would like to see the improvement of green infrastructure, such as planting more trees, install walking and biking trails (nature trail), outdoor supporting fixtures such as pavilions, gazebos benches, and other amenities that allow students to maximize the utilization of greenspace and urban forest as recreation hub. The results could be used to propose programs that improve students' satisfaction, health, and overall enhancement of campus green infrastructure's therapeutic values.
