This quantitative causal-comparative study was conducted to examine if differences in marital status and household income result in differences in technology acceptance of mobile computing by the young elderly population in the US. Two hundred and fifty young elderly responded to the electronic survey consisting of demographic questions and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) survey. The study utilized a two-way ANOVA to address the three research questions. The results of the study concluded no statistically significant difference in technology acceptance based on marital status. The statistical data that emerged from RQ1 revealed F(1, 244) = .024, p = .876, partial n2 = .876). The results failed to reject the null hypothesis and concluded there is no statistically significant difference in technology acceptance based on marital status. The statistical data that emerged from RQ2 revealed F(2,244) = 6.425, p = .002, partial n2 = .002. The results rejected the null hypothesis; therefore, inferring the alternate hypothesis is true, which concludes there is a statistically significant difference in technology acceptance based on income level. RQ3 examined the interaction effect in technology acceptance of mobile computing based on marital status and income level. The statistical data that emerged from RQ3 revealed F(2, 244) = 1.512, p = .223, partial n2 = .012. The results rejected the null hypothesis, concluding no statistically significant interaction effect of technology acceptance based on marital status and income level. Further, this study provided insight into the young-elderly population, commonly forgotten regarding technology acceptance.
