Databases have become increasingly popular and essential in today's data-centric world, where billions of objects generate data every second. Databases store a big part of big data, requiring more profound, fast, and effective data retrieval and analysis for business owners and decision-makers. Querying databases requires knowledge in both SQL and the database schema. However, knowledge of SQL is not an ordinary natural skill that everyone possesses. Hence, the need for a natural and more straightforward querying method becomes apparent.Natural Language Interface to Database (NLIDB) is the answer to the challenge; it allows users from different backgrounds and specialties to query databases employing their natural languages. NLIDB systems consist of an intermediate layer that maps a user's natural language query (NLQ) to an SQL query that the computer understands.This thesis introduces (PSUT-Net) a hybrid, general, and secured NLIDB system composed of an encoder-decoder model that employs a simple SQL Query sketch. The model is hybrid as it utilizes three deep learning techniques to fill the slots of the sketch, including sequence-to-set (Seq-to-set), column attention (CA), and pointer networks (PTR-NT). Seq-to-set addresses the conditions order problem of the WHERE clause. At the same time, CA incorporates information about column names of the underlying tables and the substrings from the user's input. Also, this thesis tests the effect of using different word embeddings on the overall prediction accuracy of the SQL Query and its parts or clauses using the proposed model.PSUT-Net was tested against three different word embeddings including GloVe, FastText and BERT. Where GloVe is the most used fixed embeddings in NLIDB systems. And FastText is the fixed word embeddings Word2Vec extension that incorporates n-grams to address rare words in the mapping process. While BERT is the contextualized word embeddings that has multiple representations of a word based on their meanings. Therefore, by comparing the overall accuracy, BERT achieved the highest overall accuracy and achieved a contribution in the WHERE clause prediction over the baseline SQLNet by 0.2%.The above results prove that better word embeddings, that has multiple representations for words based on their meaning in context, improves the overall accuracy of NLIDB models. As the mapping process between the NLQ and column names of tables in the underlying database relies only on the semantic and syntactic relations between them. And that is the only way to predict the related SQL query, which in turn will be used to extract information from the database and produce results to the end user.

520 $a قواعد البيانات هي وسيلة تخزين البيانات الهامة التي تنمو سريعا في عالم اليوم المتمركز حول البيانات. مع إنشاء المزيد من البيانات وتخزينها في قواعد البيانات العلائقية ، الحاجة تتزايد لتحليل البيانات ، مما يستلزم طريقة سريعة وفعالية لسحب البيانات ومعالجتها لتحلل وتقدم لأصحاب الأعمال وصناع القرار لاتخاذ القرارات. يتطلب الاستعلام عن البيانات المخزنة في قواعد البيانات العلائقية معرفة في لغة SQL ومخطط قاعدة البيانات. ولكن تعلم هذه اللغة الاصطناعية ليست بالأمر السهل للجميع وخاصة للمستخدمين الاداريين الذين لا يمتلكون مهارات حاسوبية متظورة. ومن ثم ، فإن الحاجة إلى طريقة استعلام طبيعية وأسهل أصبحت حاجة ملحة. واجهة اللغة الطبيعية لقاعدة البيانات هي الحل المناسب لتخطي تحديات استخراج ومعالجة البيانات بطريقة فعالة وسريعة، فهي تتيح للمستخدمين العاديين من خلفيات وتخصصات مختلفة لاستخراج المعلومات من قواعد البيانات بلغاتهم الطبيعية . هذه الواجهة تكون عبارة عن طبقة وسيطة تترجم أسئلة المستخدمين باللغة الطبيعية إلى استعلام باللغة المستخدمة لهذا النوع من قواعد البيانات المسمية بSQL.في هذه الرسالة نقدّم (PSUT-Net)النظام العام لواجهة قواعد البيانات باللغة الطبيعية ويحافظ على خصوصية البيانات باستخدام عدة تقنيات من التعلم العميق. بحيث لا يعتمد على قاعدة بيانات محددة ولا يستخدم البيانات المخزنة في المخطط العام. هذا النظام يتكون من encode-decoder ويستخدم مخطط استعلام SQL بسيط. يستخدم النموذج المدمج ثلاث تقنيات رئيسية من التعلم العميق لتعبئة الفراغات في المخطط بما في ذلك (Seq-to-set) الذي يعالج مشكلة ترتيب الشروط في جملة WHERE ، بالإضافة إلى(Column Attention) و (Pointer Network) التي تتضمن معلومات حول أسماء الحقول في الجداول الأساسية والسلاسل الفرعية من مدخلات المستخدم على التوالي.تختبر هذه الرسالة أيضًا تأثير استخدام تضمين كلمات مختلفة في النموذج المقترح ، من حيث تغطية الكلمات ودقة التنبؤ الإجمالية لاستعلام SQL وأجزائه أو عباراته. هذه التضمينات تشمل GloVe وهو التضمين الثابت المستخدم في معظم أنظمة واجهة اللغة الطبيعية لقاعدة البيانات. وتشمل ايضاً FastText وهو التضمين الثابت المبني على Word2Vec ولكنه يشمل ايضاً أجزاء الكلمات n-gram. وأخيراً تضمين BERT الذي يتضمن عدة تمثيلات للكلمات بحسب سياقها. وكانت النتائج كما هو متوقع, بأن يحرزBERT أعلى نتيجة بدقة التنبؤات لاستعلام SQL المخرج وبأن يحرز مساهمة تفوق نظام SQLNet بنتائج التنبؤ للشروط الموجودة في WHERE clause. مما يدل على أنّ تمثيل أفضل للكلمات المستخدمة في السؤال باللغة الطبيعية يحسن نتائج التنبؤ وبالتالي يصبح بجودة أكبر للاستخدام. لأن التضمينات للإستعلام باللغة الطبيعية وأسماء الأعمدة في الجداول في قاعدة البيانات هي الطريقة الوحيدة ليتم ربطها لغوياً ودلائلياً وبالتالي التنبؤ باستعلام SQL المطلوب.‪‪‪
