This study aims to explore accessible methods and techniques that enable adolescents with intellectual disability (ID) to voice their own opinions and wishes about socioemotional aspects of their life. Participatory action research (PAR) calls for the inclusion of marginalized groups, such as people with ID, in research about them, allowing them to explore aspects of their lives and social environment, and to lead social change. Including adolescents with ID in research about them requires searching for alternative and diverse means of communication and expression. Dramatic expression may offer a range of means, verbal and non-verbal, and include performance, which is a powerful social action within the community. In this study we applied the ethnodramatherapy model (Snow et al., 2017) with a group of 11 adolescents with ID who participated in a 10-session dramatherapy workshop in which they learned to express themselves through dramatic means, such as puppetry and roleplaying, and performed in front of an audience of their choice. In the course of the group sessions and the performance, the adolescents portrayed social and emotional issues that concern them, such as their complex relations with authority figures: on the one hand nourishment and dependency, and on the other hand oppression and rebelliousness. The difficulty that the group had in emotional expression, as individuals and as a group, is a prominent theme and part of their voice. The study demonstrates the power of drama in exploring, expanding, and expressing the authentic voice and free choice of this silent group, and may inspire further investigation of PAR with this population, and further exploration of drama as a tool to sound the voice of marginalized groups in general.

520 $a מטרת מחקר זה לאפשר למתבגרים עם מוגבלות שכלית התפתחותית )מש"ה( להשמיע את קולם אודות היבטים רגשיים וחברתיים בחייהם באמצעות כלי הבעה נגישים ויצירתיים, מעולם הדרמה. מחקר פעולה משתף ) PAR, Research Action Participatory )קורא לשילוב קבוצות שוליים, כגון אנשים עם מש"ה, במחקר אודותיהם, על מנת לאפשר להם לחקור היבטים של חייהם ושל סביבתם החברתית ולהוביל שינוי חברתי. הכללה של מתבגרים עם מש"ה במחקר אודותיהם מחייבת חיפוש אחר אמצעי תקשורת וביטוי חלופיים ומגוונים ככל האפשר. ביטוי דרמטי מאפשר טווח רחב של אמצעי הבעה, מילוליים ולא-מילוליים, ומופע מול קהל הינו פעולה חברתית משמעותית בתוך הקהילה. מחקר זה מתבסס על מודל בשם אתנו- דרמה-תרפיה )2017., al et Snow; ethnodramatherapy ,)המשלב מחקר משתף עם תהליך קבוצתי בדרמה תרפיה. המחקר נערך עם קבוצה של 11 מתבגרים עם מש"ה, אשר השתתפו בסדנה בת עשרה מפגשים, בה למדו לבטא את עצמם בכלים דרמטיים, כגון תיאטרון בובות ומשחקי תפקידים, והופיעו בפני קהל שהם בחרו. במהלך הסדנה ובמופע הציגו המתבגרים נושאים חברתיים ורגשיים שמעסיקים אותם, כגון יחסיהם המורכבים עם דמויות סמכות, הנעים על הציר שבין הזנה ותלות, לבין דיכוי ומרדנות. הקושי בביטוי רגשי, ברמה האישית והקבוצתית, הוא נושא מרכזי וחלק מקולה של קבוצה זו. המחקר מדגים את הפוטנציאל של הביטוי הדרמטי לחקור, לפתח ולהשמיע את קולה האותנטי של קבוצה שאינה רגילה להשמיע את קולה, ועשוי לשמש בסיס להעמקה נוספת של אפשרויות המחקר המשתף עם אוכלוסייה זו, ושל השימוש בכלים דרמטיים להשמעת קולן של אוכלוסיות שוליים נוספות.
