This paper explores the process of a student originating a short film-drama thriller, in part to fulfill requirements for a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema-Television program with a concentration in directing. The story follows a young storyteller who struggles to craft an ending to an imaginary epic campaign, while hard reality interrupts with real-life tragic events. Escape Into Art versus Facing Reality. Which will the main character choose? This project is a heavy drama with some added thriller elements. This paper explores how (if any) of his directing visions may have changed or been altered from pre-production planning to reflection after filming during the beginning of the post-production process.
